REGISTRATION DEADLINE: 7 WEEK “REINVIGORATING WISE LIVES” WORKSHOP SERIES FOR OLDER ADULTS

Pre-register for this 7-week workshop series if you:

  • Are 60 or older
  • Live or work in Queens
  • Are curious to look back thoughtfully at your own work history and share reflections with others who are doing the same
  • Want a chance to polish your technology and communication skills in a supportive group of peers and instructors
  • Are actively looking to secure a new career or employment opportunity OR looking to enrich your life with creative activities aimed at personal growth and introspection

Queens Memory has partnered with Queens Public Library’s Job and Business Academy to offer a 7-session workshop series aimed to get you where you want to go! Click here to pre-register. Spaces are limited.

Learn to develop your personal life story, pick up solid interviewing techniques, and best of all, record your history for Queens Public Library’s local history collections!

All 90-minute sessions are scheduled once a week – Wednesdays from 7:00 to 8:30 pm on the following dates; participants are required to attend all sessions:

October 6, 13, 20, 27

November 3, 10, 17

Our program will help adults age 60+ build strong interpersonal relationships, friendship, and rapport with others their age, which will last well beyond this experience. Additional trainings and programs in the Wise Lives series will be open to the public and available for Wise Lives registrants who wish to augment their weekly sessions with programs on special topics such as resume writing, social media skill building, technology and creative aging.

Join us to learn new technologies and other valuable skill sets. Take part in thoughtful reflection, engaged listening, and open-ended discussions that lay the groundwork for future success and fulfillment. As part of this project, you will be partnered with another participant to learn and record each other’s life and work histories and document how they connect to the rich history of the Borough of Queens.

Dedicated staff from the Job & Business Academy and Queens Memory aim to help participants feel valued and empowered by their maturity, and eager to live better, longer. Participants will receive individual coaching and guided assistance throughout the project to ensure success and enjoyment.

If you are ready to leave your mark in Queens History, register today!
