Queens Memory Forest Hills Walking Tour for Open House New York Weekend
This fall, the Queens Memory Project at Queens Public Library is launching the Queens Name Explorer, an interactive archival map and crowdsourcing campaign to uncover the stories behind the borough’s named streets, schools, buildings, parks, and monuments. Through our walking tour series for Open House New York Weekend, we’ll bring this data to life by highlighting named places in different neighborhoods.
The Forest Hills walking tour will be led by Adrienne Onofri, author of Walking Queens: 30 Tours for Discovering the Diverse Communities, Historic Places, and Natural Treasures of New York City’s Largest Borough. The walking tour will begin outside Forest Hills Library.
