Handling the Heat: How we do summer in Queens

Join researchers from Queens College, CUNY, and the University of Liverpool, and THE CITY’s Open Newsroom to share your thoughts about summer in New York City. Enjoy an exhibition of historic photographs from the Queens Public Library’s archival collections and see how New Yorkers have always found a way to keep cool when temperatures rise. THE CITY is a local, nonprofit news site for, by and about New Yorkers. You are also invited to share your memories and attitudes towards urban heat and summertime in Queens. Share your stories and join our arts and crafts station to make a paper fan to keep cool this summer! This drop-in event will take place in the main atrium of the Central Library from 10am-4pm.
