Artists in Conversation: “Emerging from Isolation – Notes on the Pandemic”

Join us virtually on Facebook Live and meet artists Natali Bravo-Barbee, Jacqueline Herranz Brooks, Rejin Leys and Lisa D. Wade, whose work will be featured in “Emerging from Isolation – Notes on the Pandemic,” an exhibition organized by the Southeast Queens Artist Alliance (SEQAA). From SEQAA’s exhibition announcement: “Some artists work in seclusion by choice, but not all. Restrictions brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic have affected an unprecedented, collective experience of self-isolation. This exhibition offers examples of what South East Queens Alliance (SEQAA) artists have created that reflect their perseverance in spite of this global health crisis.”

This exhibition is funded by Queens Art Fund, Queens Council on the Arts, and is hosted by York College Fine Arts Gallery (94-20 Guy R Brewer Blvd, Jamaica, NY 11451), where it will be on view from January 15-February 26, 2021.

SEQAA is a collective of artists and arts professionals seeking to cultivate and preserve artistic expression where they live. Their mission is to support local artists and offer cultural programming in Queens. SEQAA has participated in the ongoing conversations surrounding neighborhood development, gentrification, and the central role artists play in Queens.

This event will be broadcasted live on the Queens Memory Facebook Page, at https://www.facebook.com/queensmemory
