Pomonok Dreams Screening and Discussion
Join us at P.S. 201, nestled in the heart of the Pomonok Housing community, for a very special screening of the film, “Pomonok Dreams.” This 1-hour documentary provides a look back in time to the earliest days of Pomonok, when the project was built for the post-World War II baby boom, as well as celebrating the success story it continues to be. Interviews with numerous former and current residents are featured, along with historic photos and home movies. Following the screening we will have an open discussion with the filmmakers, Alan Stark and Terry Katz — lifelong Queens residents who grew up in Pomonok — as well as other special guests.
This event is co-sponsored by Queens Memory and the Friends of the Pomonok Library. Special thanks to P.S. 201, which is featured prominently in the film, for the use of its auditorium for the screening.
