Memory as Time Capsules Workshop Series: History and MyStory

Personal stories are the building blocks of a rich and inclusive historical record of our communities. No one can tell your story like you can! In this workshop, Queens artist and poet Sherese Francis will lead us to craft our own poetic stories from excerpts of historical documents and research about various Southeast Queens spaces using the practices of found and erasure poetry. This workshop is part of the Jamaica Flux project, “Art/I/Fact,” which will be a series of time capsule collages inspired by Southeast Queens.

This event is for ages 18 and older. The program will not be recorded, but participants are encouraged to contribute their stories and work products from the workshop with the Queens Memory Project.
