2020 NYC Home Movie Day Panel Discussion

Visit https://queenslibrary.aviaryplatform.com/r/7m03x8433x  for a recording of this event.

Do you know how important your home movies might be? Join us for a discussion moderated by the NYU Student Chapter of the Association of Moving Image Archivists about home movie collection, curation, and preservation. Learn how home movies can bring changes to our world one story at a time. The organizations represented in this panel collect and preserve home movies from different communities and curate these stories for the public.

Panelists include:

  • Candace Ming – Media Conservation and Digitization Specialist, Smithsonian Institution
  • Jasmyn Castro – Digital Historian & Archivist, Creator of African American Home Movie Archive
  • Natalie Milbrodt – Coordinator, Metadata Services at Queens Public Library
  • Stephen Gong – Executive Director, Center for Asian American Media

Home Movie Day is made possible with the expertise and equipment generously shared by our partners at NYU’s Moving Image and Archiving and Preservation program, the NYU Student Chapter of the Association of Moving Image Archivists and XFR Collective.
