LGBTQ History in Queens
Creator: dmetes     Date Created: 08/29/2017

In honor of the 25th anniversary of the Queens Pride Parade, the Queens Memory Program is documenting the history of activism in LGBTQ communities in Queens. Volunteers are interviewing participants in their homes, at libraries, and at local LGBTQ community service organizations across the borough. This album features some interviews and images gathered so far by volunteers. All interviews gathered in the coming months will become part of the permanent digital archives collections at Queens Library. If you are interested in taking part in this initiative, please contact Queens Memory Program Coordinator, Richard Lee Richard.J.Lee@queenslibrary.org who can help you sign up to be interviewed, to volunteer, or to nominate someone whose story we should add to the collections.
